S.I Environmental offers an extensive noise assessment and noise exposure monitoring service to commercial and industrial customers throughout Nottingham, Derby and the East Midlands.
S.I Environmental can carry out noise exposure monitoring and noise level surveys of full sites, noisy areas, processes and equipment before identifying the daily noise exposure of all employees and site visitors who may be at risk of hearing damage. Upon survey completion, advice and information will be given in order to determine the best solution to control the noise in question.
All noise assessments and surveys will be formulated into and easily understandable report, satisfying the new “Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005” act, and can therefore be used as a basis for formulating action plans and remedial measures to reduce the risk of hearing damage.
The Law Has Changed, Do You Comply?
The “Control of Noise at Work 2005” act came into force in the UK on the 6th April 2006. The directive states that the Daily Noise Exposure Action Values have been lowered by 5dB (A) from 85 to 80 dB (A) and 90 to 85 dB (A) for lower and upper exposure action values respectively.
It is the responsibility of the employer to determine those employees who may become affected by the new lower exposure action values and take appropriate measures to protect their hearing.
Environmental Noise Monitoring The measurement of environmental noise is often required as a planning procedure component BS 4142:1997 for any large purposed development, directly affecting its surrounding environment. S.I Environmental can carry out the measurement and assessment of environmental noise impacts comprehensively, usually conducted over long periods of time, analysing background noise, including measurements at night time. |
